『二年坂』2001年制作
"Ninen-zaka (Two year slope)" Produced in 2001

京都の東山にあるこの場所は、産念坂（三年坂）の手前の坂という意味でこの名が通り名となったと言われています。
古くからの家並みが続くこの地域は、国の町並み保存地域に指定されています。

This place in Higashiyama in Kyoto is said to have become the street name in the sense that it is a slope before the Sannen-zaka  -  Slope of prayers for safe child birth (It is also known as the “Three year slope”).
This area, where ancient houses line the streets, is designated as a townscape preservation area of the country.

夏の日が差す二年坂を、時折通る心地良い風を受けながら散策する、、、。
私は本作品を前にそんなイメージをしてしまいます。
実際にはたくさんの観光客の方々で賑わう場所ですが、本作品では情緒あふれる街並みを大事に、光や風を感じるように描かれています。

Taking a stroll down the Ninen-zaka as the summer sun shines down, and a refreshing breeze can be felt from time to time, , , .  That is what I imagined before creating this piece.
Actually it is a place filled with tourists, but in this piece I wanted to convey the atmospheric feel of the townscape, and created it so that the viewer could feel the light and the wind.



サイズはギャラリーでも一番種類の多い小判（画寸26×38 ㎝）。
これからの季節にピッタリな作品なので、ギャラリーでも展示する予定でございます。

The size of the piece is the most commonly used type in the gallery (size 26 × 38 cm).
It is a perfect piece for the coming season, so we are planning to display it in the gallery.
