写光
花の季節が一段落し、眩しい新緑の季節が始まりました。
今月の作品は写光です。
本州では5月になると農家の田んぼに水が引かれ、田植えが始まります。子供時代を岩手で過ごした井堂雅夫にとって、それは身近にあった当たり前の風景として記憶の中に埋め込まれているのかもしれません。
井堂雅夫は飛行機が苦手で、取材や講演に出かけるときも可能な限り陸路を選んで出かけていました。ところが岩手県花巻市にもアトリエを構え、毎月のように京都と往復することになり、やむを得ず飛行機を利用するようになると、機内から見えるアトリエとその周りに拡がる田畑の風景の四季の変化を楽しみに出かけるようになりました。
とりわけ水が入って田植えが終わってすぐの田んぼが空の雲を映して輝く光景は、上空からならではのものです。
水田を撫でるように渡っていった爽やかな風の匂いや日射しの眩しさの記憶が蘇ったような作品です。
“Shakko”
The season of flowers has come to an end and the season of dazzling fresh greenery has begun.
This month's work is "Shakko.
In Honshu, farmers' rice paddies are flooded in May and rice planting begins. For Masao Ido, who spent his childhood in Iwate, this may be embedded in his memory as a familiar and natural scene.
Masao Ido is not fond of airplanes, and whenever he went out for interviews or lectures, he chose to travel by land whenever possible. However, when he was forced to fly because of his studio in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, and his monthly round-trip trips to Kyoto, he began to enjoy the seasonal changes in the scenery of his studio and the rice paddies surrounding it.
The view of the rice paddies just after they have been filled with water and the rice planting is completed, shining brightly against the clouds in the sky, is a sight that can only be seen from the sky.
This work seems to bring back memories of the smell of the fresh breeze that caressed the rice paddies and the glare of the sunlight.
