瑠璃色の刻
井堂雅夫が20代の頃、初めて自身のアトリエを構えたのは嵯峨野の広沢の池にほど近い地域でした。
7年の染色修行を終え独り立ちをして、熱望していたとおり思う存分絵を描くことに時間を使えるようになりましたが、生活のために染め物の仕事にも時間を割かねばならず、夢と現実の両立のために朝から夜までアトリエで仕事をする日が続きました。
夕方までの染色の仕事から、絵描きになる夢のための時間に移る前に気分転換の散歩に出るのがルーティーンで、この作品の広沢の池周辺は常に田畑の何処かから野焼きの煙が上がるのが見えるようなのんびりとした風景が広がり、気に入って散策する中で作品も多く生まれました。
秋も深まり夜のベールが降りるころ、池の水面から美しい精霊がキラキラとした光となって浮かび上がるのが見えるような作品です。
“Ruriiro no toki”
When Masao Ido was in his twenties, he first set up his own studio in Sagano, near the Hirosawa Pond.
After completing a seven-year dyeing apprenticeship, he became independent and was able to spend as much time as he wished on painting, but he also had to devote time to his dyeing work to make a living, and he spent many days working from morning till night in his studio to balance his dream and reality.
My routine was to go for a walk to refresh myself before shifting from dyeing work until the evening to the time I needed to pursue my dream of becoming a painter.
As autumn deepens and the veil of night descends, you can see beautiful spirits emerging from the surface of the pond as sparkling lights in this work.
