千年の都京都では今も数多くの歴史の舞台が当時のまま遺り、その舞台の登場人物の子孫が同じ場所で当時と変わらず伝統の文化を伝えて生活をしている事も珍しくはありません。博物館のように陳列されるだけではなく実際に人々がそれらに囲まれて暮らす洛中を歩くだけで、その時代に自身も溶け込んでしまえる気がする京都だからこそ人々が何度も訪れたい場所なのかもしれません。
そんな御所を中心として碁盤の目に大路が通る洛中から少し外れると、また別の京都に出会えます。大原三千院は一度は行ってみたい場所の一つに挙げられるものの、洛北までとなると半日は見なければならず訪れる人は洛中ほど多くはありません。
井堂雅夫は毎年今頃になるとさらに静かになるこの時期の大原に、スケッチブックを何冊も帆布の鞄に入れ出かけていました。大きなスケッチブック、小さなスケッチブック、紙質の違うもの・・・描くものによって即座に鞄の中から取りだしたスケッチブックに描きます。井堂雅夫の場合は写生と言うよりも本人は「雰囲気を感じるため」と語っていました。その場の印象や入れたいポイントを描き付けるという感じで、同行した人は一様にその速さ驚かれます。
山里はあたり一面柔らかな若葉におおわれて三千院の門の屋根にもやさしい影を作ります。山内は少し湿った緑の匂いに包まれ、往生極楽院が静かにそこにあります。幾度の季節が巡り今年もまたいつもと変わらず紫陽花の花がひっそりと咲いています。

“Ohara-minazuki” (Ohara in June)”
In Kyoto, a millennium city, many of the
historical scenes still remains as it has been in the past. It is not rare to
see the offspring of the people who were I scenes living their lives in the
same place, passing on the traditional culture as they have always done. By not
just observing the city as if you’re in a museum, but actually walking in and
around the city of Kyoto surrounded by all the properties, you feel like you’re
completely immersed in the era. Maybe that is why Kyoto is a place where people
want to visit numerous times.
Centering the Kyoto imperial Palace a
little off from the main road in the city of Kyoto area, you will also see a
different side of Kyoto. Although Ohara Sanzen-in temple is listed as one of
the places people desire to go, if you want go all the way to the north area it
will take about half a day. Therefore people who visit the temple is not as
much as the people who visit in the city of Kyoto
Masao Ido carried more than a few sketch
books in his bag to visit Ohara every year around this time, when as it was
calmer than usual days. A big sketch book, a small sketch book, a sketch book
with different paper materials and so on… he pulled out his sketchbook
immediately depends on he decided what to draw. For Masao Ido, he described the
process as something “feeling the atmosphere ”, more than just a sketch. It is
as if he draws the impression of the place and what he wants to include in the
drawing. Everyone gets surprised by how quickly he draws.
The mountains are covered in soft young
leaves on the trees, which creates a soft shadow on the roof of Sanzen-in
temple entrance.
Basked in a lightly damp, fresh green scent
of the mountains, there firmly stands Oujo Gokurakuin. Many seasons have
passed, and this year too, hydrangeas are quietly blooming as always.
