迷いの窓・悟りの窓（閑）

毎年のことですが、その年最後の祝日である勤労感謝の日を境に、実りの秋の味覚や紅葉を楽しんでいた京都の街はクリスマスや年越しを迎えるというどこか華やいで浮き立った雰囲気に入れ替わります。

観光客もまばらとなり普段の京都に戻った頃に、近くの世界遺産の寺や庭をゆっくりと歩いて訪れてみると、しみじみと京都に暮らす贅沢を感じます。

 禅宗の寺、源光庵の本堂にある四角い窓と丸い窓は、迷いの窓と悟りの窓と呼ばれ、四角い窓は自身の心が様々な思いに囚われ型から出ることが出来ない苦しみの状態を表わし、それに対して円い窓は何ごとにも囚われない無限の宇宙を表わし、それが悟りであると説いています。

 井堂雅夫は絵を描く時、人と接する時、あらゆる物ごとに前提や予断がなく自身の感覚や直感で理解し判断して、こだわりを持たず囚われない自由な心で生きた人であったように感じています。

As is the case every year, after Labor Thanksgiving Day, the last national holiday of the year, the city of Kyoto, which had been enjoying the autumn delicacies and autumn leaves, changes to a festive and lively atmosphere with the arrival of Christmas and New Year's Eve.

As the tourists return to normal, a leisurely stroll through the nearby World Heritage temples and gardens will make you deeply appreciate the luxury of living in Kyoto.

 The square and round windows in the main hall of Genkoan, a Zen temple, are called the "Window of Lostness" and the "Window of Enlightenment. The square window represents the state of suffering in which the mind is trapped in various thoughts and is unable to break out of the mold, while the round window represents the infinite universe, or the state of enlightenment, in which the mind is not trapped by anything.

 I fens or unnecessary assumptions about anything, whether in painting or in his dealings with others.
